College Counseling Department
The college and career counseling department of CCPS is set up to help our stu-dents apply foreign universities and plan future career development. The depart-ment will schedule a one-to-one college and career planning since students’ en-rollment. College-orientated and based on the musical students’ personalities and characters as the starting point, CCPS gives comprehensive considerations con-cerning students’ prospective professional development and forward-looking analy-sis toward their academic planning and subject selections, which avoid the incon-veniences for students to hire extra overseas study consultants outside school.
College and career counseling faculty will teach our students know-hows about best col-lege application time, university selection, sorting of application materials, TOEFL prepa-ration, SAT examination, DEMO recording, audition & interview and guide them to dis-tinguish themselves from the crowd. Pedagogues will also feed our students that current internationally renowned campuses also value other qualities than the scores of GPA, SAT, TOEFL or IELTS, particularly leadership and the abilities to harness any available resources to obtain success in academic or non-academic fields. Our teachers will recom-mend our students as appropriate to various kinds of club activities, internal or external, domestic or foreign masters classes, music festivals in winter or summer, music summer camp from home and abroad, performance opportunities both inside and outside school as well as many other public benefit events. All these elements will add invaluable weight to their letters of recommendations in the future. As long as our students are willing to try their best, our college counseling teachers will stand by to support them to the end until they receive their favorite offers.
The director of international division of CCPS is officially dispatched to be based in US who is in charge of maintaining dynamic interactions with noted American col-leges and universities. The international division has established long-term cooper-ation with many schools around the world and we invite many college professors to open up masters classes in our school on regular or irregular basis. Bard College Conservatory, Cleveland Institute of Music and other well-known conservatories have visited our school to set up testing centers for recruitment. Our college coun-selor has multinational study-abroad experience and fully understands the college admission matters under the guidance of our international division director. The counselor has a good understanding of colleges’ preference in recruitment and is capable of providing pertinent directions.
