Bard College Admission Examination

The annual entrance examination of Bard College in China district is impending. On Sunday, January 17, 2016, the admission officer of Bard College will audition musical students from China district in CCPS school campus of the Forbidden City.

In May, 2015, our genius twin sisters gave up the offers from Julliard School and chose Bard College. The most deciding and attracting factor was that Bard College can offer them the opportunity of freely selecting another specialty beyond the music major. They shall have much more choices to success after they graduate, which is that they can not only distinguish themselves in musical stages, but also make achievement in other comprehensive fields based on their individual personalities and interests.


Bard College reestablished a testing center in our school on January 17, 2016.


Bard College is located in Annandale, which is on the east bank of the Hudson River, New York. It dates back in 1860 and its a higher educational institution with 4-year of liberal arts and sciences. There are more than 40 subjects of courses and student-teacher ratio is 9 to 1. Students come from 50 states and areas in US as well as other foreign 47 countries, among which undergraduates take up 28% and overseas students 5%.


Bard College is characterized by its flexible school-system, pre-graduation, individualized specialty setting, top students curriculum, double degree, independent research and challenging project for those students who exhibit greater learning capacities. Special curriculum includes internship, extramural investigation and overseas study.


Students in Bard College are encouraged to discover and pursue interested knowledge by their own. In addition, there are many extracurricular activities, clubs and community organizations within the school. The Bard College Conservatory of Music was founded in 2005 and has already incorporated many world-class well-known professor faculties, such as the soprano Dawn Upshaw, pianist Peter Serkin, violinist Weigang Li and Ani Kavafian.


Shawn Moore: graduated from the music department of Bard College. In the meantime, he acquired the bachelor degree in the field of Asian art study and his main research orientation is Chinese culture. After graduation from Bard, Shawn obtained his master degree in Yale University. Currently, Shawn has settled down in Beijing and is working as a freelance musician, meanwhile he holds a part-time title as the director of admission and public relations for Asian division of Bard college. As a solo artist, Shawn Moore is regularly seen in the Geneva Music Festival, Bard Music Festival and many concerts various in scale around the world as a visiting performer. Moreover, as a distinguished violinist, Shawn Moore was ever invited by the renowned South Korean conductor Nanse Gum to perform the violin and the viola in the Jeju Island Music Festival in 2014. Shawn Moore has passed on his musical zest to any willing audiences with his music and he has exerted his influences in numerous music-related promotion events and music festivals all over the world.
