Brass Master Class | Encounter Charming Brass

On December 20, 2014, three brass musicians encountered us with their musical stories.

Three masters brought us theme songs of three animations, The Lion King, Toy Story, Aladdin and upon the sounding moment of the brass, the whole world just became glorious for us and people were overwhelmed by happiness.

After the brass trio version of the national anthem of the Isle of Man started, Teacher Lu shared with us the Isle of Man's anecdotes, such as the island's cats that are without tails, which is unique in the world; and there are also four horned goats, three-legged strange flag logo. All about there are just too fascinating. The imagery of music shall originate from life and a successful musician shall only be inspired and touched by the work itself, not just a simple senior instrumentalist. Teacher Lu’s earnest instructions benefited a great deal of each participating student.

During the part of interaction with the masters, students not only get directions from masters, but also give chances to perform with them.

John Samuel Wood, the founder of Weisman brass band and other titles include artistic director, chief tuba and tuba virtuoso in Britain.

Hanlin, chief trombone for Weisman brass band; principal bass trombone for Beijing Jungle Big Band and also a trombonist in US.
