Chinese Curriculum

The Chinese courses programs provided by us aim to help students master Chinese language, history and culture while enhancing their musicianship. We wish our students could be the messenger of Chinese culture when they are making appearances in the world stages. Therefore we arm them the requisite cultural knowledge for their successes in academic and profession. Our students are expected development not only in the domain of music, but also their eyesight in the world. We try our best to help them make all-around progresses in liberal arts and sciences as well as knowledge in Oriental and Western cultures. For the ultimate purpose, they shall be equipped with profound literate cultivation regardless of their future careers in artistic stages, music-related jobs or other industries.


Our faculty team for Chinese courses comprises the senior teachers in Beijing. Our distinguished pedagogues give each student individualized tutorship and guide the student to learn knowledge proactively in an open, self-discipline and heuristic academic atmosphere. We help students acquire sturdy accumulations of Chinese connaissance and foster lifelong learning habits. As a result, the students would gain a better understanding of China under global contexts of larger scope.



Contents:


Chinese (10-12 Grades)


Train students basic knowledge and improve their levels of comprehending and applying Chinese languages in a correct manner. Equip them with the abilities in reading modern articles, writing, appreciating literature works and classical Chinese;


Learn classical literature and poetry to gain the capacities to understand and appreciate poetry and classical Chinese literature. Lay a solid foundation for their further study in Chinese literature and writing;


Mater the fundamental ways to learn Chinese language and develop a good habit in self-learning of Chinese. Foster their competences in exploration, research and problem-solving and lay a firm groundwork in their future study and lifetime development;


Nurture their Chinese qualities and enhance their levels in appreciating arts; prepare them for the continuing study and lifelong development.



Mathematics (10-12 Grades)


Training their logical thinking, arithmetic capability and spatial imagination abilities; help students gradually master the capacities in observation, analysis, synthesis, comparison, abstraction and innovation.


Horn their self-discipline and arouse their curiosities; develop a good learning habit and acquire practical and realistic scientific attitude as well as spirits of independent thinking;


Broaden their horizons in maths; help them understand the values of science, application and culture of the maths in a gradual way;


Improve students’ abilities in recognizing and solving problems through systematic study;


Familiarize them with SAT maths contents;


Familiarize them with mathematical terminologies.



Politics (10-11 Grades)


Help student to form a correct self-identity and build a good self-image; improve their self dignity and social communication abilities; teach them to establish a long-term friendship with people around them;


Teach students understand the feeling of love and being loved; nurture their views on love in a healthy manner;


Instruct them to reject any pressure coming from their companions and understand self-protection; minimize harms concerning sex and drugs that may occur to them;


Recognize emotion and its role in a lifetime; teach them to control emotion;


Learn and understand some common laws and arm legal weapon to them for defending themselves;


Build up knowledge in sex, family planning and communication; learn to plan their own study and life goals; encourage them to strive for their own objectives;


Help them adapt to foreign environment both in psychology and behavior; learn to face growth, marriage and family problems in mature manners.




History (10-11 Grades)


Mainly covers the development history of human society, ideology, culture, science and technology, which include Chinese and foreign contents and involves historical period of, ancient, contemporary and modern time.


Further understand the basic features of human social development via learning the major historical events that happened in the course of the ideological and cultural progress from home and abroad; help students understand the development process of mankind in an all-round way;


Build up a strong knowledge foundation of history; sort out the historical threads; develop history subject proficiency; form a systematized and structured frame of knowledge and based on which to extend toward deeper and broader directions; by combing with the reality to develop the ability to apply knowledge.
