ELOY | Trumpet Teacher

Eloy Marques Guardia is a Spanish trumpet player who is currently working at the Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra. His duties include principal trumpet as well as trumpet instructor at the conservatory. He has been a sponsored Fides artist, the renowned instrument company, since 2010. Eloy is also currently performing as guest principal trumpet with the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra. Inspired by his father, Eloy began studying music in his hometown of Valencia at the age of 6. Having shown an astonishing talent for trumpet, at the age of 8, he was admitted at the Joaquin Rodrigo Conservatory. Eloy was awarded the Excellent Performance Prize when he was 13 years old, and at the age of 16 he became certified as a trumpet instructor. Eloy was admitted to the Salvador Segui Conservatory of Music where he earned a bachelor's degree in 2000. The following year he won the Spanish Special Prize at the International Youth Music Competition. Eloy was awarded a position at the Navarra Symphony Orchestra in 2003. Soon thereafter, he won the lbercaja bank award in 2005 and was invited to perform with several orchestras including; Spanish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Euskadi Symphony Orchestra, and Bilbao Symphony Orchestra. His success led to invitations to play as guest principal trumpet with Bilbaao Symphony Orchestra, Cordoba Symphony Orchestra, and Madrid Philarmonic Orchestra. During this period, Eloy performed many concerts in Europe and taught masterclasses throughout. Eloy and his Brass Quintet "New Brass Quintet" won the third prize in the Yamaha-Hazhen International Brass Quintet Competition in 2006. The next year he entered the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music, where he continued his studies with trumpet master Frits Damrow. In Holland, Eloy joined the Amsterdam brass, Amsterdam trumpet ensemble, and Contemporany Music ensemble Conservatorium van Amsterdam, as they toured Belgium, Germany and participated in the famous Suerland-Herbst music festival. Eloy won the Special prize of the Yamaha European All-Star competition in Hamburg, Germany, and the second prize of the Juan Garcia Marlin International Grand Prix in the same year,  2010. In 2011, Eloy joined the Central Opera House as chief principal trumpet when he officially started his career in China. During the six years he worked at the Central Opera House, he was fortunate to do a great deal of touring while performing opera works around the world. Recently, he accepted a position to join Central Conservatory of Music in 2017 and serves as the principal trumpet of the Central Music Conservatory Symphony Orchestra.
